Salary:
- PGCIL offers a highly attractive pay package, making it one of the best in the industry. Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of ₹40,000 to ₹1,40,000 (IDA) during the one-year training period. During this time, they will receive a stipend in the form of a basic pay of ₹40,000, along with IDA, HRA, and perks at 12% of the basic pay.
- Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed as Engineers in the E2 scale, with a pay scale of ₹50,000 to ₹1,60,000 (IDA). The compensation package includes basic pay, dearness allowance, perquisites, and allowances as per the cafeteria approach, performance-related pay, company leased accommodation or company quarters or HRA, reimbursement of monthly conveyance expenditure, mobile facility reimbursement, laptop facility, provident fund, gratuity, pension and leave encashment, group insurance, and group personal accident insurance.

Educational Qualification:
To be eligible for PGCIL Engineer Trainee Recruitment 2023, candidates must have a full-time B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) degree from a recognized University or Institute in the relevant discipline and a valid GATE 2023 score in the corresponding paper.
Final year or semester students who expect their final results by 14th August 2023 are also eligible to apply, provided they have obtained a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters or years up to the pre-final examination. In case of selection, their candidature will be subject to securing a minimum of 60% marks in the essential qualification. Such candidates must mention their marks up to the pre-final examination while filling the online application form for POWERGRID.

Age Limit:
- Maximum of 28 years as of 31st December 2022.
However, age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories, as per the Government of India guidelines. Selection Process:
The selection process for PGCIL Engineer Trainee Recruitment 2023 comprises marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2023, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview.
Eligible candidates must appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2023 in their respective disciplines, i.e., Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication (EC), Civil Engineering (CE), or Computer Science Engineering (CS). Only candidates who qualify in the corresponding paper of GATE 2023 will be eligible for the next stage of selection.
The qualifying marks in GATE 2023 will be decided by the GATE 2023 conducting authority. Qualified candidates will be shortlisted category-wise for Group Discussion and Personal Interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2023, in the corresponding paper. Candidates have the option to appear for the GD/Interview in either Hindi or English.
The weightage for the selection process is as follows: GATE 2023 Marks (out of 100) in the corresponding paper – 85%, Group Discussion – 3%, and Personal Interview – 12%.

Application Fees:
For SC/ST/PwD/Ex-SM/Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of application fees. Other candidates are required to log in to their candidate login section and deposit a non-refundable application fee of ₹500 through online mode only.
