A new scheme has been launched by the Department of Higher Education to provide day-to-day expenses while pursuing professional courses like Medical and Engineering. The main aim of the Central Sector Scheme Of Scholarship is to provide opportunities to financially weak Meritorious students so that they will be able to fulfill their dream by pursuing professional courses. The selection of the student will depend on their education level. All interested applicants who want to apply under this scheme will have to visit the official website of the national scholarship portal to apply.
Applications Invited from ST Medical/ Nursing Students
The Union Tribal Affairs Ministry has recently launched the notification in which online applications are invited from the eligible scheduled tribe Medical and nursing students. These applications are invited for the central sector scheme of scholarships for college and university students. Applicants can visit the official website of the national scholarship portal to apply for the scheme. The last date to apply for the scholarship scheme is 31st October 2022 and the last date for Institute verification and defective verification is 15th November 2022. Applicants are requested to apply before the last date to avoid any trouble.
CSSS Scholarship Last Date Extended
As per the latest information released by the authority responsible for the conducting of the central sector scheme of scholarship, the last date to apply for the scholarship program has been extended. Earlier, it was 31st December 2021 which has now been extended up to 31st October 2022. Interested applicants can go to the official website of the national scholarship portal and register before the last date. Defective verification and Institute verification’s last date has also been extended up to 31st January 2022 which was earlier than 31st December 2021.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship Latest Updates
As per the latest updates by the National Scholarship Portal, renewal applicants can apply for the central sector scheme of scholarship for the year 2022 and fresh applicants from only these States can apply “ASSAM, BIHAR, ANDHRAPRADESH, UTTARAKHAND, CHATTISGARH, MANIPUR, KARNATAKA, TAMILNADU, GOA, J&K, MIZORAM, NAGALAND, TELANGANA”. Applicants from other states are requested to please wait for some time as application forms for these States also will start soon.

Eligibility Criteria:
- 80% of successful candidates in class 12th are eligible to apply under this scheme
- an applicant must be pursuing a regular course such as medical or engineering from a recognized Institute or college by AICTE, a dental council of India Medical Council of India
- The annual income of the candidate’s family should not exceed more than 8 lakh per annum from all the sources.
- Students that are pursuing degree courses through distance for correspondence are not eligible to apply under this scheme
